The IMPERIAL CADET PROGRAM is designed to encourage a love of costuming in children 17 and under, and allow them to participate in a limited fashion as troopers at selected events.

There are restrictions on the program, so please review the components carefully.

The IMPERIAL CADET PROGRAM consist of these components AND REQUIREMENTS:

1) Waiver and Release – MUST be signed for every event and a copy forwarded to CO / XO / Event – Event Coordinator. (See Attached)

2) The understanding that the child will have their OWN DEDICATED HANDLER to guide them and watch out for their well-being at the event, and this handler WILL be a graduate of our Handler Training Program. LINK: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5046&p=48718&sid=14e31be6f824b2efe848e5e57f5ae4d0#p48718

3) The event the Cadet attends is in keeping with our Garrison Code of Conduct which states: (Item # 7.) Golden Gate Garrison Code of Conduct: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=122

#7 CHILDREN ATTENDING EVENTS

While participating in a 501st or GGG event, members may not bring unsupervised children (17 and under) with them to the event. Further, attending minors may not participate in costume except during events where the public is also invited to attend in costume.

Example of events where the public is also invited to attend in costume may include parades, conventions, and possibly “Star Wars Reads/Day at the Library.”

Event coordinators can confirm if an event is appropriate to bring a cadet to troop alongside the garrison.

4) A photo of the Cadet’s costume is to be submitted in advance to Garrison Command Staff. While costumes will not be held to the same standards as adult costumes, quality should be higher than standard off-the-rack Halloween costumes.

Command Staff Reserves the Right to Change or Modify the Qualification Characteristics with Proper Transparency and Communication to Membership.
