Participant[Clarification on LFL (now Disney/LFL events) events]
Historically, before the sale to Disney, GGG Command Staff kept an eye on who got selected for LFL events, to ensure fairness – those who had had previous LFL opportunities were (at times, based on costume needs) not selected to allow members who had not had the same opportunities a chance.
With the LFL sale to Disney there have been changes.
Now, participants are able to earn a “fair day’s wage,” because the trooper is being hired by Disney/LFL for that event.
Now, LFL asks Command Staff for a list of names and photos (with height in, and out of, costume, weight, and a portfolio link to the photos – containing front, back, left, right, and an action pose, the portfolio is maintained and presented by the member as part their RSVP for the event), the event is put out to the membership, members sign up, and Kyle sends the full list of names to the LFL contact – neither Kyle nor any command staff member has input into what names are allowed to go – the decision of who can go is now fully up to the LFL Character Appearance Team.
Following submission and review of the casting RSVP, LFL will respond with the members that are chosen for the event. Further instructions are provided when appropriate as it relates to event specifics.
Soon, the Outer Rim Database will be fully operational, and there will be NO contact with Garrison command staff – LFL will be in total and complete charge of the process.
It is encouraged that all GGG members register with the Outer Rim Database:

The change to a Disney-run process also means that it became more of a real casting process, and with that comes some unpleasant realities for those who hope to troop a Disney/LFL fair day’s wage event:
1. Casting directors do not concern themselves with fairness.
2. Casting directors will stick with people they know once they find people they can trust.
3. Casting directors will go off-list to contact people they know if they feel they need to.
4. Casting directors are looking to solve their casting problems in the fastest, easiest way possible, which means that they’re going to stop looking at their lists as soon as they find what they want.
5. Disney/LFL will make their casting decisions based upon their own criteria, and we have NO control over that criteria.Since the process of selection has passed into the hands of Disney/LFL, GGG Command Staff no longer has a say in who gets to go to LFL events or not.
Additionally, even though we do understand the frustration expressed by members about the new process, it is inappropriate for Garrison Command Staff to direct or request that specific individuals exempt themselves from entering their names for LFL events.
However, when a member does choose to exempt themselves, we are always greatly appreciative of those shows of teamwork and generosity.
